Asia Mostly Rises Advertisment Shares in Asia-Pacific rose on Friday following overnight gains stateside that saw the S&P 500 hitting a record closing high.
The Nikkei 225 rebuilt 437.24 points, or 1.5%, to end the week at 28,779.19.
The Japanese yen traded at 105.43 per U.S. dollar after weakening from levels below 105.2 against the greenback yesterday.
Shares of Japanese automakers rallied following a Nikkei report that Apple is in discussions with at least six companies about working on the Apple Car.
By the market close in Japan, Mazda Motor surged 18.5%, Mitsubishi Motors soared 8.1%, Nissan jumped 7.5%, Honda gained 2%, Toyota rose 2.% and Suzuki Motor advanced 1.7%.

Suzuki Marineâs Tampa HQ to Open April 1

Late last year, Suzuki Motor of America
announced it had chosen Tampa, Fla., for the corporate headquarters of its Marine Division, as the company restructures its motorcycle/ATV and marine segments.
Business operations are slated to begin in Tampa on April 1.
Suzuki’s Marine Technical Center in Panama City, Fla., opened last June.

Suzuki Marine USA, a division of Suzuki Motor of America that makes outboard motors, is moving its headquarters to Tampa.
The company has started moving some employees to town and is hiring others to work at its new headquarters at 13521 Prestige Place in Westchase, in northwest Hillsborough County.
“We wanted to move to the heart of the marine business,” said George “Gus” Blakely, a vice president of Suzuki Motor of America and head of its marine sales division. “We really felt that Tampa would offer us all the things we were looking for. It was a great place to attract future workers and just had a lot to offer.”

YANGON Many firms, especially foreign-owned businesses, in Myanmar have reacted with shock to Monday’s military coup and declaration of a yearlong state of emergency, which has put billions of dollars’ worth of foreign investment at risk due to possible sanctions from Western countries. Some foreign firms have already put investment commitments on hold.
